From the expansive grounds and diverse accommodation options to the delectable offerings at the Coachhouse Restaurant, this photoshoot showcased our comprehensive approach, highlighting the unique beauty and appeal of Kentisbury Grange.
Day 1
Capturing the Exteriors and InteriorsUpon arriving at Kentisbury Grange, the immediate sense of serenity and grandeur was palpable. The meticulously maintained grounds, the elegant main house, and the inviting atmosphere all set the stage for a truly comprehensive photoshoot. The charm of this location was evident from the moment we stepped onto the property, providing the perfect backdrop for our work.
From the moment I arrived, I was very well looked after by the staff, making the entire stay exceptionally comfortable and enjoyable.
The picturesque setting of Kentisbury Grange, with its lush gardens and timeless architecture, created an idyllic scene for our photography. Every corner of the estate offered a unique perspective, ready to be captured through our lens.
The extensive grounds of Kentisbury Grange presented a wealth of opportunities for stunning photography. Our approach was to capture the natural beauty of the landscape, from the meticulously maintained gardens to the sweeping pathways and serene water features. Each shot was carefully composed to highlight the harmonious blend of nature and architecture that defines Kentisbury Grange.
To enhance the natural beauty of the grounds, we utilised a combination of wide-angle lenses for expansive views and macro lenses for intricate details. Aerial photography played a crucial role, providing a new perspective that truly showcased the estate’s layout and beauty.
The Main House and Coachhouse Restaurant

Our approach to photographing this stunning structure focused on capturing its grand façade, intricate details, and the harmonious integration with the surrounding landscape. Using a mix of wide-angle shots to encompass the entire building and close-ups to highlight architectural nuances, we aimed to convey the essence of this magnificent property.
The lounge and guest rooms at Kentisbury Grange epitomise luxury and sophistication. The lounge features elegant furnishings, rich textures, and a warm, inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for relaxation.
Achieving the desired mood and clarity in these interiors required strategic lighting setups. We utilised a combination of natural light and controlled artificial lighting to highlight the details and create a cosy yet refined ambiance. This approach ensured that every element, from the sumptuous fabrics to the intricate design features, was showcased to its fullest potential.
Cottages, Garden Rooms, and Lodges
Variety of AccommodationsKentisbury Grange offers a diverse range of accommodations, each with its own unique charm and character. The Main House is luxury & character personified. The cottages are a modern hotel room in its own garden space, perfect for a tranquil retreat. The garden rooms provide a serene connection to nature, offering guests a peaceful escape. Meanwhile, the lodges blend lakeside views and self catering comfort, ideal for those seeking a private stay. Each type of accommodation is designed to cater to different preferences, ensuring a memorable experience for every guest.
Capturing the essence of these varied spaces posed several challenges. Ensuring the right lighting to highlight both the interior decor and exterior surroundings was crucial. Each space required a tailored approach to bring out its unique features. Overcoming these challenges involved a mix of natural and artificial lighting techniques, as well as careful composition to balance the intimate and expansive elements of each accommodation.
Staying the night in one of the main house guest rooms allowed me to truly appreciate the comfort and elegance that Kentisbury Grange offers.
Day 2: Focusing on the Culinary Creations
Food & Drink PhotographyOur photoshoot at Kentisbury Grange included a variety of menus, capturing the culinary delights offered at the Coachhouse Restaurant. From the hearty Breakfast menu to the sophisticated À La Carte options, and including the Bar Menu, Cocktails, and Cream Tea, each dish was meticulously styled and photographed to highlight its appeal.
Styling and presentation
The importance of food styling and presentation cannot be overstated. Each dish was carefully arranged to enhance its visual appeal, using props and lighting to bring out the textures, colours, and details.
Close-Up Shots
Capturing the intricate details of each dish required a focus on close-up shots, which emphasised the artistry of the culinary creations. These images showcase the fine details and craftsmanship of the food, enticing viewers with their visual allure.
Reflection on the Experience
Our two-day photoshoot at Kentisbury Grange was an enriching experience, capturing the property's unique charm and elegance. From the stunning exteriors and interiors to the delectable culinary offerings, every aspect of this shoot showcased the beauty and sophistication of the estate.
